This is a great time to join the University of Bedfordshire. 2020 will see the appointment of a permanent Vice Chancellor and a new HR Director who will report to the VC. As we emerge from lockdown, the University can reflect with pride on high levels of staff engagement, exceptional delivery and renewed ambition.

This post is an opportunity to join a highly enthusiastic and dedicated HR team in a role providing

wide-ranging HR support to a designated client group.  You will be accountable for all administration and support of the employment lifecycle, engaging proactively with University staff and external stakeholders to deliver an effective and efficient HR service. This will include giving robust advice on terms and conditions of employment, recruitment and on-boarding processes and on employee relations casework – from the straightforward to the complex – ensuring the highest standards of outcome.

You will support the updating and management of the HR Management Information system in a timely manner to ensure that data is accurate and up to date. You will also be capable of developing a good working knowledge of systems in order to actively support and engage staff and managers in using the MI systems to support effective people management.

We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and influencing skills, attention to detail and precision with outputs; the ability to take the initiative and work under pressure and has had previous experience of providing an HR administrative service.  Experience of working within higher education or the public sector would be ideal but is not essential.
