Annual salary: up to £32,000.00

Mears Housing are looking for an experienced Supervisor to work within our Planned Works division in Milton Keynes. The role reports directly to the Planned Contracts Manager and you will be involved with projects from the planning stage right through to completion. As part of the role you will at times compile works and obtain quotes from contractors as well as price some works yourself, so good, solid commercial awareness and I.T literacy is essential.

To succeed in this role you will need to be experienced and well versed in organizing, leading, supervising and controlling the daily contract activity, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

The successful Supervisor will need to be an excellent communicator with the ability to enthuse, motivate and negotiate. Ideally you will have an experience leading a team within the Planned Works Housing sector alongside having a commitment to continuous service improvement.

The successful Supervisor will need to supervise and successfully manage, on a day to day basis, the operation and delivery of planned programmes of works including minor to major extensive refurbishments.

As a supervisor, you will be responsible for achieving and exceeding deadlines under pressure as well as delivering on the following objectives:

  • Achieve all pre-agreed KPI targets via the effective supervision of operatives and sub-contractors.
  • Monitor, organise and direct operatives and sub-contractors to ensure all agreed productivity levels are met.
  • Build an excellent working relationship with the client and their designated partners.
  • Ensure all operatives work in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Carry out pre and post inspections as required to raise accurate works and check quality of works carried out
  • Ensure operatives comply with all Health and Safety procedures.
  • Manage and monitor all work in progress to ensure effective service delivery is achieved.  Address poor performance promptly.
  • Report any accidents to Health and Safety Manager immediately.
  • Carry out appropriate regular communication meetings with operatives and sub contractors, such as performance meetings, toolbox talks and one to ones.
  • Clearly log, audit and complete jobs as well as updating the MCM software ready for invoicing.
