The University of Bedfordshire’s Faculty of Education and Sport is seeking to appoint an Associate Dean for Quality, which also encompasses responsibility for international partnerships within the Faculty.

This is an exciting time to join an ambitious Faculty with established high quality standards. This is an opportunity for an outstanding leader to work in a key leadership role within the Faculty, with a responsibility for maintaining the quality of the current provision and supporting staff across the Faculty with new portfolio developments. With a focus on enhancing quality and supporting both student and staff experience the Faculty is looking for someone with drive and ambition who can contribute to a desire to build on current strengths and ensure a culture of excellence.

Associate Deans offer leadership and management to the Faculty’s team of academic and professional support staff to ensure that the Faculty delivers a high quality student experience, and develops a portfolio that performs highly against all relevant quality review and inspection standards, is financially sustainable and supports leaders of our research activity in the development of excellent research.

Associate Deans are key members of the Faculty Executive Group and are expected to contribute more widely to the strategic development of the University taking on specific leadership roles and tasks as required.

This post provides leadership to a Faculty which currently specialises in Education, Sport and English courses. The Faculty includes courses which lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and requires a candidate who has the ability to apply quality standards to a range of  PSRB requirements. It requires meticulous attention to detail, good people management skills, the ability to lead change, and excellent communication skills.
