Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join Roundwood Primary School as our school Finance Officer; working at our Gawcott site which is where our junior children our based.

Salary: Based on experience Pro Rata Pay Range 3 £21,807-£22,245

Contract: Permanent to start from 4th January 2021

Hours: 15 hrs a week – Days can be decided with successful applicant – 8:30 – 4:00 pm 39 weeks p.a. (term-time including inset days)

About the role

The role involves working closely with the headteacher to effectively set and manage the school budget as well as reporting on the budget to all stakeholders.

You will be responsible for managing the day-to day running of all financial systems and tasks as well as supporting with additional admin and Health and Safety management.

About you

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience in day to day financial school management
  • Have experience of Health and Safety management
  • Manage the school budget and present on it to all stakeholders
  • Have excellent communication skills, to liaise with children, staff, parents and outside agencies, and act as an excellent representative of our school
  • Have knowledge of FMS financial system, SIMS, recruitment procedures & GDPR although training will be given where necessary
  • Be able to work under pressure and answer questions regarding the budget with confidence
  • Remain confidential and deal with all staff issues regarding staff pay, or parent finance sensitively
  • Process invoices and monitor these against the monthly budget
  • Be responsible for ordering resources and to carry out stock checks where necessary
  • Be responsible for booking school trips and residentials, and managing payments made by parents
  • Have excellent ICT skills and be proficient working within Word and Excel
