An opportunity has arisen within this busy Pathology service to join the Chemical Pathology team. You will be part of a dedicated team of Blood Science healthcare professionals who deliver a high quality 24 hour service that is responsive to patient requirements. We are looking for a competent and versatile person with an absolute attention to detail. Awareness of the requirements for compliance with the ISO15189 standards is a key requirement for this role. We look to continually improve our services for our patients and are therefore looking for staff with the right attitude who will work with us to achieve this. The laboratory is ISO15189 accredited and is an IBMS training laboratory. This post could also be offered as a developmental role and applications would also be welcomed from experienced band 5, HCPC Biomedical Scientists. Applicants will require a Specialist Portfolio in Biochemistry/Blood Science (or complete a Specialist Portfolio within 3 years of appointment if in a developmental role).
Pathology and Blood Sciences have invested in new equipment operating a Beckman-Coulter Power Express track, 2x AU5800 Biochemistry analysers and 2x DXI800 Immunoassay analysers. We have a Protein electrophoresis laboratory with Capilarsys 2 for the identification and quantitation of specific proteins.
We are committed to the quality of service we provide our patients and users and have been awarded ISO 15189 accreditation for Biochemistry, Haematology and Blood Transfusion repertoires.
