The vast majority of the time devoted to training is in school. All training teachers will work alongside experienced and dedicated teaching staff and mentors who will provide the support and guidance needed to become a first rate teacher. Each training teacher recruited will be placed in a school that is most able to meet his or her training needs.
Train to become a primary school teacher with the Tommy Flowers SCITT in Milton Keynes. This graduate programme will place you in a local school from September in June where you will learn from an experienced mentor. One day per week you'll attend Professional Studies and Subject Studies training at the Tommy Flowers SCITT that Ofsted described as 'exemplary'.
Throughout the course, you'll be guided by a School Mentor, whose class you'll be based with, a Professional Tutor and the Tommy Flowers SCITT's experienced Partnership Managers and Subject Tutors. You'll receive a shorter second placement in a contrasting school and year group.
As well as receiving Qualified Teacher Status, you will also receive a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in partnership with Northumbria University.
There are two primary routes - tuition-fee and salaried, depending on your experience.
