NHBC has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Trainer / Assessor to join the brand-new Apprenticeship delivery team, as part of the Training and Analysis Department. We also have openings for a Senior Trainer/Assessor in the Industry training team.
This excellent opportunity to join a new, growing team, supports NHBC’s commitment to providing quality apprenticeships to the home building industry – delivering relevant, impactful training for the built environment on our Site Supervisor, Bricklaying and future programme offerings.
Working alongside wider specialist training teams, our Apprenticeship Senior Trainer / Assessors will train, guide, and support apprentices to successful End Point Assessment outcomes. We will also continually develop our content to ensure we are meeting the high standard of NHBC’s commitment to improving quality for the sector.

About the role
You will demonstrate a proven track record of delivering training / assessing within the construction - house building industry or associated programmes. This will be backed up by a recognised construction, training or assessment qualification (e.g. CIOB, CABE, BSC, RICS Cert.Ed., BILD, IOSH, CMI etc) or ability to work towards this.
Extensive technical knowledge of house building and the governing legislative framework it works within is required.
Capability to develop and deliver training to varied audiences of different backgrounds and experience is essential.
Extensive knowledge of Health & safety legislation would also be beneficial
Knowledge and understanding of Apprenticeship Standards and qualification delivery would be beneficial.
Whilst the current programme delivery is virtual, due to the nature of the role a full UK driving licence is essential and extensive travel may be required throughout the UK. Therefore, 2 – 3 overnights per week could be expected in future, dependant on COVID restrictions.
The successful candidate will:
Ensure training is delivered in a time and cost-effective way, including marking and feedback on module completion for apprentice learners within SLA timeframes
Liaise with employer managers and learners to complete progress reviews and documentation, assessment visits or support sessions.
Co-ordinate and manage time to ensure the delivery of apprentice training and/or assessment to achieve qualitative and quantitative targets
Represent NHBC training on appropriate internal/external groups
Liaise and consult with customers, outside agencies and professional bodies to ensure qualification and/or training --programmes meet their qualitative requirements and ensure quality assurance procedures are effectively maintained, apprentices programme progression is managed and supported between NHBC and the employer
Maintain NHBC’s accreditations, including ESFA, CITB, OFSTED, NVQ Awarding Organisations, the Association of Project Safety and other bodies as appropriate
Ensure allocated training/guidance material is kept up to date and current, including engaging with continuous personal development, working with key stakeholders and research and development of content, processes and services
Maintain Safeguarding and Prevent standards in line with OFSTED regulated tuition and assessment delivery
Raise and promoting the profile of NHBC training
Support project work that contributes to the goals and objectives of NHBC, Operations and Training and Analysis
Support the management of quality/consistency of NHBC qualification and development programmes
Assess NVQ candidates as appropriate, completing progress reviews with the employer customer and learners
Consult with customers’ in the identification of learning needs for their staff and the design of suitable technical training

Salary £36,300.00 - £47000.00 per annum dependant on experience
