Job Description

We are seeking a strong, focussed Commercial Development Manager to join our team responsible for building the pipeline of land, destination and partner deals for the growing UK EV charging infrastructure. Focussing on delivering a strong pipeline from prospect to converted contract, this role is critical to us building long term growth strategy.

Within the role, you will be responsible for managing and delivering deals for the UK Network and providing monthly, quarterly and yearly forecast, targets and pipeline management for your team. 

You will be joining a business with an envious and unrivalled position in a fast-growing market, and ultimately helping enable more people to transition to electric vehicles. You will not just be part of the biggest change in the automotive industry for a century - you will be at the forefront of it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and secure new business across destination, partner and land opportunities and seek opportunities for additional network growth
  • Review existing sale approach/processes and develop new ones with clear methodology to implement operational changes
  • Develop sales team capability for new business acquisition – supported by development frameworks, and annual performance plans/targets
  • Work with Commercial Sales, Marketing and Growth Strategy teams to deliver Customer Value Propositions
  • Develop/deliver customer acquisition plans/proposals
  • Responsible for providing a monthly update of progress to Commercial Sales Manager & Head of Sales
  • Support Head of Bids with tender submissions
  • Working closely with our legal team, define and negotiate contracts
  • Ensure HSE risks of installations have been considered and mitigated appropriately
  • Paying close focus to BP's Code of Conduct, be accountable for delivery of all works submissions to partners



  • Strategic commercial sales and negotiation experience
  • Proven capability to operate and bring success in highly demanding and complex business, with ability to manage customer expectations
  • Communication skills – listen, understand, empathise, solve, advise, act, own a situation
  • Strong confidence and leadership, with entrepreneurial approach to continual improvement
  • Expertise in strong interface and relationship building with external parties and senior internal stakeholders and in generating win/win situation
  • High degree of flexibility to adapt to what is a fast-changing environment and therefore to manage a degree of ambiguity
  • Ambitious and target focussed with a drive to succeed
  • Organised, prepared and planned for success
  • Great understanding of excel, reporting and presenting
