Specific Job Description
The Supplier Subcontract Manager is a key role within the Lockheed Martin UK Global Supply Chain Organisation based at Ampthill, Bedfordshire. The successful candidate will join a renowned international defence company, with a range of technically innovative products and excellent opportunities for career progression, personal and professional development.
This type of role is generally accountable for defining and managing major complex subcontracts in the either armoured fighting vehicles, ground based air defence or space domains to meet domestic and international programme needs. LMUK(Ampthill) has a worldwide supply base although predominantly in the UK, Europe, Middle East and the US.
This specific role will focus on the development and delivery of vital components of a ground based air defence system as part of a programme led from the US to meet the requirements of international market.
Opportunities also exist to develop comprehensive supply chain strategies and solutions to support bids, proposals in the Defence Sector and commercial environments.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, determined and committed, a confident self-starter, with an ability to drive and implement change where appropriate. They will be a team player with strong management skills, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will have outstanding senior stakeholder management skills and have the flexibility to travel as required in both the UK and abroad.

Lockheed Martin (UK) Ampthill is a rapidly changing and dynamic business within the Lockheed Martin Corporation with a domestic and international Customer base. LMUK Ampthill consists of three business areas focussing on Vehicles, Special Projects and Mission Support, providing a variety of products and services to the primarily to the UK MoD including the Warrior CSP, Scout Specialist Vehicle and support to the UK Land Environment Air Picture Provision capability. LMUK Ampthill also has International customers and markets.

Please note that the LMUK Ampthill working pattern is a 9-day fortnight with the site closed every second Friday and a flexible working pattern with the possibility of working a proportion of time from home.
